Why a second read of an EIC proposal is not optional
The EIC Accelerator is one of the hardest instruments in Europe to win, and most of what sinks a proposal is not the science. It is a performance claim with no named baseline. It is a market built top-down from a headline figure. It is a financing gap asserted rather than evidenced. It is a pitch deck that quietly disagrees with the proposal about the funding ask. None of these are hard to fix — but you cannot see them from inside your own draft after six weeks of writing.

Remote evaluators judge Excellence, Impact and Implementation and return a qualitative verdict on each — convincing, convincing with reservations, or not yet convincing. Stage 1 and Stage 2 are different reviews
Stage 1 is a 12-page short proposal plus the pitch deck: the job is to be credible fast. Stage 2 is a full dossier where the annexes, workbooks and letters have to agree with the proposal. Applying the Stage 2 checklist to a Stage 1 draft produces confident, useless advice, so the two routes never share a checklist here.
The whole dossier, cross-checked
Stage 2 findings come from reading the proposal, implementation annex, deck, freedom-to-operate analysis, letters of intent and the financial and lump-sum workbooks together. Cross-document contradictions are one of the most damaging and most common findings, and they are invisible if you read each file on its own.
What is explicitly out of scope
The video pitch is never uploaded or assessed, and the review does not simulate interview performance or predict a jury decision. Saying so plainly is part of the product: a review that claims to predict your funding line is telling you something it cannot know.
What the review actually checks
A sample of the questions the EIC route asks of your text. Each one produces a located, evidenced finding rather than general advice.
- Whether your breakthrough is measured against a named baseline under stated conditions — the single most common reason an EIC Excellence verdict turns cautious.
- Whether the market is built bottom-up from reachable customers, or is a percentage of a headline figure.
- Whether the financing gap is evidenced with dated investor discussions, or merely asserted as a preference for non-dilutive money.
- Whether the pitch deck and the proposal tell the same story about the funding ask, the launch date and the pilot results.
- Whether the lump-sum workbook reconciles with the work packages and the effort you claim (Stage 2).
- Whether every scale-up milestone survives its own dependencies: regulatory, manufacturing and first customer.
- Whether the letters of intent commit anyone to anything, or are polite letters of interest.
- Whether the ownership and control position is disclosed where the technology is sensitive.
- Whether the pages answer the question the template asked, in the section the evaluator will look in.
Every issue in the report carries its location in your text, the criterion it damages, a concrete correction, a model-answer pattern showing the shape of a strong reply, and a re-review test you can run yourself after editing.

Is this an official EIC evaluation?
No. It is a simulation built to be format-faithful and calibration-faithful to the EIC's own remote evaluation, so gaps surface while you can still fix them. It is not a European Commission or EISMEA assessment, it does not predict funding decisions, and you should read the official call documentation yourself.
Can I re-review after I make the changes?
Yes, and it is the intended way to use this. Fix the top corrections and upload the revised version; comparing the two reports shows which issues resolved, persisted, worsened or appeared in the new draft.
